A steel bollard is a pipe that is commonly used to help protect structures such as buildings, houses, utility boxes, gas lines and pedestrians from vehicles, that might cause damaged or harm from a collision. They’re also installed for directing traffic and as a barrier for non-vehicle pathways. Steel bollards can be installed as a permanent fixture, which is encased and fill with concrete. Or as a removable pipe bollard that comes with a sleeve that is encased in concrete, which allows the bollard to be removed when vehicles need access.
